Benedict tells the story of the unlikely friendship between First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt and civil rights activist Mary McLeod Bethune, two women whose shared beliefs in women's rights and education led them to forge a powerful alliance. Their friendship, spanning decades, played a crucial role in shaping the civil rights movement and the fight for social equality.
