Program Description

Event Details

In 1960, four Black students staged a sit-in at a segregated Woolworth’s counter in Greensboro, NC, challenging the grip of the Jim Crow laws. Inspired, Van Gilmer—then a student at North Carolina A&T—soon joined the peaceful protests. In this powerful talk, he shares his firsthand experience and reflects on the courage that fueled the Civil Rights Movement.
